Common cactus finch

The common cactus finch is a Darwin’s finch with a long, pointed bill adapted to feeding on Opuntia cactus flowers, pollen, nectar, and seeds. It is endemic to the Galápagos and occurs on most of the central and larger islands but is absent from several outer ones. Its close association with prickly pear cactus makes it a familiar sight in the arid zone.
