Overview
Book Cruise Now (“BCN,” “we,” or “us”) is based in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse the site, send an inquiry, or create an account, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Inquiry and account details — your name, email, and any message you send us when you inquire about a departure or create an account.
Booking details — the departure, ship, and party information needed to pass your inquiry to the operator.
Usage data — which pages and features you use. Today this is optional cookie-based analytics: we set it only if you accept it in the cookie notice, whether or not you are signed in. See our Cookie policy for the details.
We don’t handle your card details when you book a cruise — you pay the operator directly, on the rail they set up. Operators who subscribe to list their ships pay us through Stripe, which processes the card and passes us only a customer reference, never the card number.
Why we collect it
To pass your inquiry to the operator and let them respond to you, to operate your account, to keep the service secure and working correctly, and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We collect only what these purposes need.
Where your data is stored
Some of our service providers, including our hosting and database providers, store and process data in the United States, where it is subject to US law. Under PIPEDA we stay accountable for that information wherever it is held, and we use contractual commitments with those providers to require a comparable level of protection.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry and account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to respond to your inquiry, plus a reasonable period afterward for support, legal, and audit purposes. Anonymous analytics data, where you’ve consented to it, is kept as described in our Cookie policy.
Your rights
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw your consent to our use of it. Email us and we’ll respond within a reasonable time. If you aren’t satisfied with our answer, you can bring a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. We’ll post the new version here with an updated date.
