A tuff cone island north of Santa Cruz, closed to landings, known as the site of Peter and Rosemary Grant’s decades-long finch study. Cruises circle it by boat. The flat-topped crater and steep, tree-less sides gave the Grants a controlled setting to document natural selection in Darwin’s finches.
